New Access AU (Rotunda of ISCAA)

Project Description

The University Avenue Node Reformulation Implementation Project (ISCAA), to be located at the junction of the University Avenue and the Humanitarian Volunteer Firemen's Association Street in Aveiro, required by the Aveiro City Council, consists of the construction of a roundabout increase the capacity of traffic flow eliminating the current situation of light-signaling trunking

It is also planned to carry out a new access to the University Campus, with a vehicle lane and cycle paths.

Once this roundabout is part of the beginning of another ongoing project, "Cycle Path between the University of Aveiro and the CP Station", there will also be cycling routes on the outskirts of the roundabout and in agreement with Rua da Humaneira dos Trabalhadores Volunteers.

The roundabout will absorb 5 branches, have a 2-lane lane, a central islet 20 m in diameter and a diameter of the inscribed circle of 41.8 m.

The cross-sectional profile of the Access road to the University campus will have a 7 m wide lane with 1,5 m (in both directions) paved cycle paths, generally forming two planes with a transverse slope of 2 , 5% for the exterior. The walks will be at least 3 meters wide and will be paved in micro bucket of limestone.

The transverse-type profile of the Humanitarian Volunteer Firemen's Association Road will have a 6 m wide lane with 1,5 m (in both directions) paved cycle paths, generally forming two planes with a transverse slope of 2 , 5% for the exterior. The walks will be at least 3 meters wide and will be paved in gray hexagonal ground stone.
